Customer eligibility
- You must be 18 years or older to use Quickdose or buy age-restricted products.
- A restricted cart requires a structurally valid South African ID number before payment. The automated check confirms the number format, checksum, encoded date of birth, citizenship digit, and an age of at least 18.
- This is an age-assurance check. It is not Home Affairs identity verification, biometric verification, or an official KYC result.
- The original physical ID must be presented at every age-restricted delivery. The order will not be handed over if the ID is unavailable, belongs to someone else, or shows that the recipient is under 18.
- Orders may be refused or cancelled if the checkout or delivery age check cannot be completed.
How the checkout check handles your ID
- Quickdose does not retain the raw ID number, encoded date of birth, a document image, or an OCR transcript from the checkout check.
- We retain a keyed, one-way fingerprint of an accepted ID together with the over-18 result, consent version, timestamps, order link, and delivery-check outcome.
- An unfinished checkout record expires after 30 minutes. Once payment begins, the checkout checkpoint may remain available for up to 24 hours so a verified payment callback can finish safely. An order-linked record is retained for up to 30 days. A successful physical delivery check may reduce repeat checkout friction for an authenticated customer for up to 365 days, but physical ID is still required at each delivery.
- A failed automated check does not prove that a person is underage or that an ID is fraudulent. Contact support if you believe the result is incorrect.
